Established in 1983, this award honors a member for significant contributions to the chapter and its activities, and to health sciences libraries or organizations.
A plaque and cash award is awarded to the recipient. 
Requirements are membership in MCMLA for a minimum of five years and five or more years working in a health sciences/medical/hospital/academic library, institution, or organization.
Areas of consideration for eligibility include, but are not limited to:
- leadership in the profession
 - scholarship/publications/research
 - teaching/training/mentoring
 - professional activity
 - service to the health profession
 - development of special projects
