Theme Overview:
Health sciences libraries are evolving - physically, digitally, and socially. From the spaces we work in, to the places we serve, to the people who power them - this contest invites designers to capture the essence of transformation and connection within the health sciences library field for the 2026 MCMLA Conference logo.
Design Prompt:
Create a logo inspired by the theme:
"Spaces, Places, and People in Health Sciences Libraries"
This theme invites interpretation of:
- Spaces - physical libraries, virtual environments, research hubs
- Places - communities, campuses, global outreach

- Must reflect the core theme: Spaces, Places, and People in Health Sciences Libraries
- Optional but encouraged: Incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and/or an owl as symbolic elements.
Artificial intelligence (AI) or other digital technology elements significantly impacting the future of health sciences information. Please list if you use AI to enhance your design process (examples, using Looka, Canva, or other logo-creating software)
- Must be original and adaptable for print, digital large/small formats. This refers to the need for the content to be both original in its original format and adaptable to various accessibility needs.
- Submit as a high-quality JPG or TIF
- Include a short explanation (max 100 words) describing logo design choices. Name and contact information.
- Accessibility standards: Although logos are exempt from the color contrast requirements under WCAG, it's a good idea to use colors in your branding that achieve adequate contrast. That way, visual users can more easily perceive and read your logo.
