MCMLA Strategic Priorities 2018-19

Priority 1: Strategic Plan

Tasks:

  • Communicate committee strategic goals to the membership
  • Communicate progress through the year of goals to the membership
  • Establish a strategic plan website which will reflect completed goals

Priority 2: Committee Assessment

Tasks

  • Assess roles of committees as they relate to member expectations
  • Work with committees to determine any changes to roles
  • Work with committees to determine ideal number of members

Priority 3: Assess Engagement

Tasks

  • Create Engagement Task Force, charged to
  • Create and disseminate a survey to the membership and
  • Make recommendations to the Executive Committee


Heather Brown is the Associate Director of Collection Services at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s McGoogan Library of Medicine. She has been at McGoogan since 2004 and in her role, she oversees interlibrary loan, special collections, and collection development and metadata. She is also involved in the library’s institutional repository and social media. She received her MA in Information Science and Learning Technology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2002. In 2011, she received a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Health Sciences Librarianship from the University of Pittsburgh. She is active in MLA and Nebraska’s local health sciences library organization ICON.
