Scope of the MCMLA Privacy Policy 

This policy applies to your use of the MCMLA website, www.mcmla.org. This policy does not apply to websites linked from www.mcmla.org. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party websites. 

The MCMLA website, www.mcmla.org, utilizes the WildApricot organization management cloud software. The Chapter Web Editor is responsible for the administration of the Wild Apricot software. Chapter officers and committee chairs are also given access to limited administrative functions within WildApricot to conduct the chapter's business. Please review the WildApricot Privacy Policy. 

Personal Information We Actively Collect 

MCMLA only collects the data you voluntarily submit to us, for example in your membership record or via an event registration form. If you are a chapter member and/or have registered for an MCMLA event, a log is created of when you access your contactrecordand of any emails you opened or clickedthat were sent via Wild Apricot.  

When submitting payment by credit card to MCMLA, no credit card information is stored within the MCMLA website or WildApricot.All credit card payments are processed by WildApricot’sAffiniPay gateway that is fully PCI (payment card industry)compliant. Credit card information is securely transmitted to AffiniPay where it is processed. AffiniPay then returns the status of the payment transaction, which is recorded in your MCMLA contact record. 

MCMLA does not collect any personal information or analytics about the visitors to our website. Public users are anonymous. 

MCMLA does not use any third-party analytics or cookies. Any cookies placed from our MCMLA website are those utilized by WildApricot. 

How We Use Your Information 

Data is collected to maintain a database of current and past members, communicate with members, add members to the chapter listserv, promote events or elections, collect contact information for event registration.  

How to Correct or Update Your Personal Information 

Chapter members may access their member profile and update their contact information. You may also contact the MCMLA Web Editor. 

How long MCMLA Retains Personal Information 

Data is stored indefinitely. You may access, update, or remove your personal information from MCMLA sites by making a request to the MCMLA Web Editor. You will receive an acknowledgement of your request and an estimated date of when the request will be fulfilled. 

Data Sharing 

If MCMLA receives a request to share information with another entity, the MCMLA Executive Committee will review the request and approve or deny. This action will be documented in the minutes of the MCMLA Executive Committee. Generally, the Chapter does not sell or distribute any information it collects. Requests made by non-chapter members to share information with our members are accommodated by posting the information on our chapter listserv, if deemed relevant.  

Data Protection and Security 

Many portions of our website are restricted to Chapter Members Only. The member directory is an example of content restricted to members only. A username and password are required to access this content. We have also implemented WildApricot’s two factor authentication, and all members will be required to submit an additional code sent via email to access member only content.
