Annual Awards

MCMLA recognizes its outstanding members by bestowing three awards:  

1. Barbara McDowell Award for Excellence in Hospital Librarianship
2. Bernice M. Hetzner Award for Excellence in Academic Health Science Librarianship
3. MCMLA Outstanding Achievement Award

Fill out the nomination form.

STARS Program

1. All MCMLA members can self-nominate.
2. MCMLA members who are in attendance at the MCMLA annual meeting will receive a star pin when they check in for the meeting to wear with their name badge.
3. A poster will be created with the names of all the STARS and displayed at the MCMLA annual meeting.
4. A list of all the STARS’ accomplishments will be created and posted on the MCMLA website.
5. All STARS participants will have their name put in a container for a drawing to be held at the MCMLA annual business meeting. Winners do not need to be present at the MCMLA meeting to win the prize(s).
6. Prizes will be three $20 gift certificates.

Chapter Council Sharing Roundtable Free Lunch Award

The Free Lunch Award was established in 2009 to support MCMLA members’ attendance at the Chapter Council Sharing Roundtables Luncheon held at the annual MLA meeting. Read more

MCMLA Professional Travel Scholarship

This scholarship is to be used to help MCMLA members who live in rural areas of the MCMLA region to attend the annual MCMLA meeting. Read more
