Library Advisory Task Force

I am pleased to announce the formation of a chapter Library Advisory
Task Force to be chaired by Barbara Jones.

The charge to the task force is to develop a strategy for librarians to
use in their respective institutions to show their worth to their
administrations. In some ways this would be a qualitative approach to
how the library is impacting the institution. The Task Force will
provide a preliminary report at the St. Louis meeting and will have a
complete report for the members by March 31, 2007. Several states
already have similar efforts. This is an attempt to collate all efforts
into a working strategy for chapter members.

The composition of the committee follows. However, it is hoped that all
chapter members who have an interest in advocacy issues will offer
suggestions and recommendations to either the chair or to their state
representative.
